Green Silicon Carbide Powder JIS#2500 JIS#3000

Products: Green Silicon Carbide

Size: JIS#2500 #3000

Description:  Green Silicon Carbide is an extremely hard (Knoop 2600 or Mohs 9.4) man made mineral that possesses high thermal conductivity (100 W/m-K). It also has high strength at elevated temperatures (at 1000°C, Green SiC is 7.5 times stronger than Al2O3). Green SiC has a modulus of elasticity of 410 GPa, with no decrease in strength up to 1600°C, and it does not melt at normal pressures but instead dissociates at 2815.5°C.

Appplicatio: Green SiC is an entirely new batch composition made from Silica sand and coke, and is extremely pure. It can be manufactured in many complex bonded shapes, which are utilized for superrefractory purposes. Green SiC is also ideal for a wide variety of abrasive applications.

The applications of Black silicon carbide powder?

Black silicon carbide powder is produced by smelting quartz sand and petroleum coke inside high‑temperature resistance furnaces. Featuring Mohs hardness of 9.2, good thermal conductivity, moderate electrical conductivity, excellent wear resistance and great chemical stability against acids and alkalis, this cost‑effective SiC material serves numerous industrial sectors across abrasive processing, thermal management, refractory metallurgy and advanced composite manufacturing.
Its most traditional and largest‑volume application lies in the abrasive and surface‑treatment industry. Graded black silicon carbide grits and micro‑powders are widely made into grinding wheels, abrasive belts, sandpapers and polishing pastes. It performs outstandingly for grinding cast iron, non‑ferrous metals such as aluminum, copper and brass, stone, marble, glass and low‑tensile‑strength non‑metallic workpieces. In sandblasting and water‑jet cutting operations, sharp‑edged black SiC particles efficiently remove rust, oxide scale, burrs and old coatings, achieving uniform matte surface finishing for machinery parts, casting components and hardware workpieces.
